FAQ

  • Is it necessary to prepare a presentation using PowerPoint, Canva, etc.? It is not compulsory, but it is recommended (especially for online sessions) as it helps to convey the main ideas of the presentation more effectively.
  • How long should each presentation last? 10 minutes. Most tables tend to be quite full, and it is important to allow sufficient time for an exchange of ideas. This is particularly important in the case of online presentations.
  • If I join online, can I test the presentation beforehand? We cannot guarantee that you will be able to test the presentation beforehand. The organisers are attending in person and, although we will try to open the session on Google Meet 10 minutes early, it will not always be possible to test the presentation. We hope you understand.
  • How do the sessions work? The sessions are in real time, synchronous, and participants must always be present (online or in person). The moderator will oversee organising the session. In-person or hybrid sessions will have an in-person moderator; online sessions will have an online moderator.
  • When will I receive my certificate? It will be sent to you by e-mail. We will begin sending them out 1–2 weeks after the Conference, so we ask for your patience.
  • If there is more than one author of the paper, do we all have to register? Yes, all authors must register in order to get a certificate.
  • When I register, do I need to send proof of payment? No, that is not necessary.
  • What happens if I have co-authored a paper with my thesis supervisor (for a PhD, MSc or BA thesis, etc.) who is no longer an Early Career researcher? The aim of this conference is to serve as a forum
for Early Career researchers (with less than five years since completing their thesis); ideally, that signature should be removed. The organisers reserve the right to remove signatories who do not meet the criteria. However, the conference organisers are aware of the issue of inequality and may make exceptions so as not to disadvantage the Early Career researcher.
  • Do I have to prove in any way that I am a Early Career researcher? No, the organisers trust that all participants are honest in the information they provide; therefore, no degrees, certificates or enrolment documents will be required. This conference thrives on the respect towards all those taking part; it is an academic gathering based on trust, and we want it to remain that way.
  • How can I obtain a certificate of attendance? To obtain a certificate of attendance, you must attend 80% of the sessions, either in person or online.
  • Are there any grants available? No, the conference already offers a reduced registration fee compared to other international conferences. Furthermore, this year the conference is not receiving any external financial support.
  • Can I change my session or time slot? Changes will not always be possible. Where feasible, requests made in good time will be accommodated. Please understand that, although the programme is flexible, the organisers need to plan for the preparation of the conference. Last-minute changes will not be possible; participants are asked to plan accordingly.
  • I can’t see my presentation in the programme; what should I do? Firstly, check and pay attention to the various parallel sessions. If there are still errors in the programme (e.g. your presentation is not listed), please email: cjig@ubu.es
  • How can I pay the registration fee? You must make a bank transfer to the following UBU account: ES08 0049 6738 5422 1601 4076. In the reference field, please state: Name of the conference (in this case, Conference of Early Career Researchers with a Gender Perspective) and the participant’s full name.
  • Can I check that I have registered successfully? The organisers are unable to check registrations individually as they do not have access to the university’s financial records. All registrations will be checked together in a final list the day before the conference begins.
  • Should I worry that I haven’t received an email from the university confirming that my payment has been received? The university does not send individual emails to confirm that a payment has been received.
