Location

The 8th International Conference on Multicomponent Reactions and Related Chemistry will take place in Burgos, a beautiful historical city with a privileged geographic location in north-central Spain, 240 km north of Madrid and 160 km south of Bilbao, and well connected with their International airports, by train or bus.

Burgos is situated in the Pilgrim’s Road to Santiago de Compostela, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites hosted by Burgos together with its Cathedral, a masterpiece of Spanish Gothic architecture, and the Archeological Site of Atapuerca, natural caves sited on the Sierra de Atapuerca which contain a rich fossil record of the earliest human beings in Europe.

Besides these sites, a large number of architectural masterpieces can be found, as the Monastery of Santa Maria la Real de las Huelgas, the Cartuja de Miraflores or the Hospital del Rey.

The venue of the conference will be Hospital del Rey, a unique place and jewel of Plateresque art, now home to the University of Burgos and formerly a hospital for pilgrims in the Road to Santiago de Compostela since its foundation in 1195 by King Alfonso VIII.
