SELECTION AND ADMISSION

PROCEDURES

After the application closing date, the selection and admission process will be done in a 3-step procedure, as follows:

  1. The University of Burgos, as the EMaCS coordinating institution, will short-list all of eligible candidates and the Consortium will draw up a selection ranking of excellence, taking into account the following criteria:

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

In the assessment of this criteria, the teaching and research activity will be considered, specifically: subjects taught, total number of theoretical and practical credits and/or dedicated hours, specificity in relation to EMaCS, coordination of titles (degree, master's, doctorate, official, own, inter-university...), tutoring final or research papers, participation in research projects, presentations at international conferences, publications...

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

In the assessment of this criteria, the candidate's employment background will be considered, specifically, duration, activities carried out and relationship with the EMaCS programme. A minimum of 8 years of work experience is established.

PROJECT TO BE CARRIED OUT DURING THE VISIT

To develop a unit proposal, including: title; duration; description about themes covered; objectives fitting into the sequence of the EMaCS programme; competences and learning outcomes; modes of learning; suggested readings and system of assessment. Applicants can use as template, the EMaCS syllabi uploaded in its website.

OTHER MERITS

Awards, elected positions of representation in prestigious institutions related to EMaCS...

  1. The Consortium shall review the ranking in order to object to or approve the list of those admitted filling the positions published in the corresponding edition.
  2. UBU will communicate the final decision by e-mail to all visiting lecturer applicants.

Each visiting lecturer, prior to the start date of his/her activities, will sign an Agreement with the Consortium, which will contain the following information:

  • Salary, payment modalities and modes of reimbursement of travel, accommodation and other costs.
  • A detailed description and a calendar of this scholar’s activities within the programme.
  • Conditions of annulation of the Scholar Agreement.
  • Arrangements in regard to intellectual property rights.
  • Required reports from this scholar’s activities to the Consortium.
  • Contribution to the promotion and dissemination of EMaCS in their HEI and country of origin.
